From the beginning, our server seemed inattentive and unaccommodating. When we politely asked for a few more minutes to decide on our order, the waitress refused to return, forcing us to approach her to place our order. This left us feeling quite uncomfortable. As for the meal, the schnitzel l tasted burnt, while the salmon had an unpleasant taste, suggesting it may not have been fresh. Additionally, the bread was served cold and stale, so much so that after just a few bites, we decided to stop eating it altogether.
Despite leaving 99% of the food on our plates, the waitress did not ask if there was any issue when she brought the bill, which made the lack of concern all the more disheartening.

My wife and I both had the Jagerschnitzel with mushroom sauce potatoes were excellent. Great portion. Absolutely delicious!

The food was excellent and we were looking forward to this traditional German restaurant. It was a Friday evening and we arrived at 6:45 pm. Didn’t realize they take their last order they accept was at 7 pm. By 7:45 pm we were being asked to pay and felt very rushed to leave sadly. Too bad. Photos show the Mushroom Sauce Schnitzel with some Spatzel (and red cabbage on the side). Comes with bread and salad.

2024: hours have changed a bit, so definitely double check that before going. Reservations are always recommend. Updated menus are shown as well. Food is still great, and worth a visit!

Lunch! Always had dinner here, now I have even another reason to come! Not that I already didn't.
Schnitzel on a bun topped with sauteed onions, apple and brie. Whoa! So good.

Schnitzel, spaetzel and kraut oh my!

The short of it is that if you are in the area, or even if your not in the area, Maximilian's is a must eat.

The in-laws have been going here since the '80s, and I don't think the menu has changed! Which is good. They make the best schnitzel, hands down, bar-none.

Service is what you expect from and old world restaurant, attentive and unflinching. The dining room has an German charm that gives you a sense of the alps. The patio outback has a terrific view of the pond with a fountain. Very picturesque.

Reservations are recommended, and covid protocols are followed, depending on when this is read, please check with the restaurant for details.

Was just there this evening, the food, which I thought was impossible, has improved. The best schnitzel I have ever had. Kitchen was on-point tonight, like usual, but even better. ?

My wife and I had a lovely lunch here during a recent stop in Perth. The outdoor patio (where we were seated) was beautiful, while the indoor space was very spacious (I took a look inside).

As for the service, it was quite good, while both of us enjoyed our meals. Would absolutely come here again the next time I am in Perth.

We stopped in for lunch today around 2pm and it was pretty quiet. Ordered two full schnitzels which were quite large - both were OK, the mushroom cream sauce one needed a little salt or something though. Ham and pineapple one was tasty. We asked if they could do half and half sides, instead of only one, but the server said no, which was disappointing (schnitzel should come with both sauerkraut and potatoes in my opinion). However, it was nice that it came with a simple appetizer salad and the schnitzel itself was tender.
Overall it was an ok experience although service felt really slow despite only there being only us and one other table to serve. They didn't really check in on us after serving the food which we would have appreciated. Total was $90 for two schnitzels, plus a Caesar and soda.

A family-favourite, always on the table for special occasions or even just whenever we want delicious takeout. We don’t live in Perth but we consistently make the drive without hesitation for this delightful food. The schnitzel dinner for two is my favourite; full meal for each person and 2 slices of fresh pie which never go uneaten.

Desserts really good. Goulash also was good and only place I saw in Canada. General Perth atmosphere this is very clear heritage piece.
